Our client who operates in the manufacturing industry is looking to employe a Prepress Manager. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager you will be responsible for:
Support senior leadership in delivering the company’s currency-related strategy, including Central Bank requirements and security/polymer features.
Provide expert technical advice to help leaders make informed decisions and contribute to annual strategic planning.
Adhere to and promote governance standards and operational processes across the organisation.
Establish systems that ensure operational targets (quality, quantity, timelines) are consistently achieved.
Put in place tools to track, predict, and control material and consumable costs; develop cost models for products sold.
Build strong connections between site operations and central technical teams to improve knowledge sharing and communication.
Lead continuous improvement activities that encourage teamwork and employee involvement.
Ensure platemaking operations always meet the strict standards required for a Bank of England production site.
Support central planning by supplying requested prepress materials to other sites or customers.
Identify future talent needs, training requirements, and career development plans for the team.
Implement flexible labour models within Prepress to balance downtime and reduce overtime.
Align staffing levels with medium- and long-term production forecasts.
Create processes to capture variations in job performance and ensure they feed into the final quality reports; regularly update job estimates.
Identify new technologies and submit business cases for investment and implementation.
Continuously review and update standard operating procedures, FMEAs, and control plans, including organising retraining when needed.
Benchmark against other company sites and key suppliers to stay informed about best practices and cutting-edge technologies.

Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in a science subject.
