We are looking for a Junior Lawyer or Senior Legal Officer to join our elite Legal Department, taking a lead role in contract strategy, credit advisory, and litigation management.

Reporting to the Legal Manager, you will be a strategic partner to the business, ensuring our operations are legally sound and our interests are protected in a fast-paced environment.
Contractual Mastery & Infrastructure
- Create and refine complex contractual agreements and ancillary documents.
- Ensure every agreement meets strict standards such as DORA, BRRD, and GDPR.
- Maintain our digital Contracts Register (JIRA) and repository to ensure the bank's records are impeccable.
- Draft and periodically update template agreements and internal legal manuals to maintain operational excellence.
Credit Advisory & Security
- Review and advise on credit agreements, sanction letters, and security documentation.
- Support the Credit Department by structuring agreements that protect the bank's interests.
- Manage relationships with external counsel and notaries regarding credit and security matters across Malta and the EU.
Litigation & Internal Counsel
- Oversee litigation proceedings and attend court sittings to provide expert information on behalf of the bank.
- Provide timely legal guidance to IT, Risk, Compliance, HR, and Operations teams.
- Manage the internal protocol for document execution and CEO signatures.

🎓 What You Bring to the Bar
- A Master of Laws (LL.M.) and a warrant to practice law in Malta or an EU Member State.
- Minimum 2–3 years of post-qualification experience, ideally within banking, financial services, or litigation-heavy legal practice.
- Strong skills in regulatory interpretation (Banking Act, Companies Act) and a proactive approach to contract negotiation.
- The ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers and a high degree of professional integrity.
