Our client is seeing to recruit for a Deputy General Counsel who will support the Group General Counsel in overseeing all legal, regulatory, and corporate governance matters across the company. This senior role involves managing complex cross-border transactions, ensuring compliance with evolving legal frameworks, advising on strategic business initiatives, and leading the in-house legal team.
Duties include:
- Provide high quality legal advice and strategic guidance to senior management, the board, on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial, financing, and corporate agreements.
- Support and lead strategic projects, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other corporate transactions.
- Oversee dispute resolution and litigation management, engaging and managing external counsel where required.
- Support the Group General Counsel in maintaining robust corporate governance frameworks across company
- Advise on corporate structure and governance best practices.
- Lead, mentor, and develop members of the legal team fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
Requirements
- Minimum 8 -10 years’ post-qualification experience, with strong inhouse experience in a multinational or large group setting.
- Strong background in corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
- Experience in managing cross-border legal issues and complex transactions.
- Proven leadership ability and excellent interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment
