Life and Health Underwriter

Our client in the Insurance Industry is looking to recruit a Life and Health Underwriter to join their growing team. 

Responsibilities

• Evaluating insurance applications 
• Reviewing medical, occupational and financial information to review risk profiles
• Handling underwriting decisions 
• Supporting the development of underwriting strategies 
• Ensuring underwriting practices are aligned 
• Supporting with internal audit reviews and regulatory reviews
• Working closely with sales, operations and claims
• Providing underwriting support to intermediaries and internal stakeholders
• Keeping track of underwriting KPIs such as turnaround times and approval rates
• Supporting with day to day duties 

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year working in Life underwriting locally
• Understanding of local insurance regulations
• Excellent verbal and written English and Maltese

Education and Experience

• Certification in Insurance is preferred
