Our client, a well-established importer, distributor, and retail franchise operator of leading global brands in the food and beverage sector is seeking a People & Performance Lead. The Main Responsibilities include:
HR Leadership
- Uphold and embed the organisation’s values and mission across all departments.
- Oversee day-to-day HR operations, ensuring smooth workflows and timely delivery of services.
- Maintain HR policies, procedures, job descriptions, and records.
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation and Health & Safety standards.
- Participate in management meetings, planning sessions, and training initiatives.
Employee Relations & Engagement
- Advise management on performance, grievances, conflict resolution, and legislative matters.
- Lead disciplinary meetings, investigations, and terminations in line with best practice.
- Build trust-based relationships across the organisation.
- Implement initiatives to enhance employee engagement, well-being, and retention.
Recruitment & Retention
- Manage the full recruitment cycle from job postings to onboarding.
- Ensure timely hiring to meet operational needs.
- Support managers in selecting suitable candidates.
- Lead projects to improve workforce retention and satisfaction.
Learning & Development
- Oversee performance appraisals and probation reviews.
- Monitor training and development records, ensuring compliance with mandatory requirements.
- Partner with managers on career development, leadership, and change management initiatives.
- Contribute to annual HR development plans and training budgets.
Working Hours
Monday - Friday
08.00-17.00 (one day hybrid per week)
Requirements
- Strong character with confidence to make tough decisions and challenge leaders when necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and coaching skills.
- Highly organised with strong problem-solving and time-management abilities.
- Knowledge of HR best practices and employment law.
- Fluent in both Maltese and English.
Education and Experience
- 3–5 years’ experience in HR (generalist or business partner capacity).
- Demonstrated experience leading initiatives that improve performance, engagement, and culture.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.
- Familiarity with Shireburn is considered as an asset
