Payroll Manager
Central Malta | Up to €40,000 Annually
A local CSP is looking to appoint a Payroll Manager to gradually take on a portfolio of clients and help grow the business.
Responsibilities:
Manage the full end-to-end payroll cycle for a diverse portfolio of clients across various industries and jurisdictions.
Ensure all payroll are processed accurately and on time, including wages, bonuses, commissions, deductions, and taxes
Handle statutory payroll requirements, including social security submissions, tax filings, and year-end reporting (FS7)
Stay up to date with payroll legislation, tax updates, and regulatory changes to ensure full compliance.
Oversee and optimise payroll/HRIS systems, including client onboarding, system setups, and software migrations.
Implement strong internal controls, audit checks, and reconciliation processes to maintain accuracy and data integrity.
Act as the escalation point for complex payroll issues while ensuring service levels and client expectations are consistently met.
Lead and develop a team of payroll specialists through coaching, performance management, training, and recruitment.
Produce customised payroll and general ledger reports and identify opportunities to enhance efficiency and service quality.
Promote continuous learning and best practices, staying informed on industry trends, technology updates, and legislative changes.
Requirements
Solid previous local experience in payroll, internal or external.
Experience in a leadership role would be considered an asset
Strong technical knowledge of payroll legislation, social security, taxation, and employment regulations.
Fluency in English
Education and Experience
A qualification in Payroll/HR or related field
