Payroll Coordinator

  Central Malta  |  €20,000 - €23,000 Annually 

This is a great opportunity to step into a pivotal role within a dynamic HR team for a company in the food industry sector. 

As Payroll Coordinator, you’ll be the go-to person for ensuring smooth and accurate payroll operations, supporting both employees and management with professionalism and care. From processing salaries to handling queries and statutory reporting, you’ll be at the heart of keeping everything running seamlessly.

What you’ll be doing

  • Processing employee salaries accurately and on time.
  • Managing payroll adjustments, promotions, and pay increases.
  • Inputting and maintaining employee data in the payroll system.
  • Monitoring absences and updating engagement and termination records.
  • Preparing payroll reports and statutory submissions.
  • Handling payroll queries with efficiency and discretion.
  • Applying for funds such as maternity trust funds.
  • Preparing FSS reports and end-of-year submissions.
  • Supporting annual audits with required documentation.
  • Managing refunds of expenses, petty cash reconciliations, and notice period calculations.
  • Collaborating with the HR team on wider projects and tasks as needed.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English with strong written skills.
  • Basic understanding in accounting or payroll
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and time management.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum O’Level standard of education.
