Our client specialising in the distribution of consumer goods, is looking for an HR Executive to join their growing HR team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering consistent, high-quality HR services to their multinational workforce, both in Malta and Africa.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full employee lifecycle for designated departments or teams
- Ensure compliance with HR best practices, ISO 9001 standards, and relevant employment laws in Malta and other jurisdictions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records using HR systems, including Shireburn Indigo.
- Collect, organize, and validate HR data to support payroll processing, attendance tracking, reporting, and strategic planning.
- Liaise with local and overseas payroll subcontractors, addressing queries and ensuring smooth collaboration with HR and Finance.
- Draft employment-related documents, such as contracts, secondment agreements, and internship paperwork.
- Collaborate with junior HR representatives in the international offices to maintain consistency in HR policies and practices across the Group.
- Conduct research and engage with legal advisors and authorities on employment regulations in Malta and other countries of operation.
- Plan and coordinate employee induction programmes, training sessions, team-building activities, and CSR initiatives.
- Handle work permit applications and renewals for third-country nationals.
- Prepare and submit documentation to JobsPlus and other governmental bodies as required.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and comfort working with data, reports, and legal documents.
- Proven experience in implementing and managing HR systems
- A collaborative, professional attitude with excellent communication skills, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent command of spoken and written English; Maltese and French are considered an asset.
- The ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Previous HR or management experience in a multinational environment is preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally, mainly to East Africa, for periods of 1 to 2 weeks at a time.
Education and Experience
- HR qualification equivalent to NVQ Level 5 or higher.
- Familiarity with global HR platforms, especially Shireburn Indigo and T&A systems.
