Our client is seeking a dedicated HR Manager to help shape and lead their newly established team and company. You will play a pivotal role in building the HR function from the ground up within a fresh, dynamic environment.
Main Responsibilities
Maintain and update personnel files to ensure all training and compliance requirements are met.
Recruitment: Lead the end-to-end recruitment process, from sourcing to conducting interviews.
Guarantee a full complement of staff across all shifts to maintain operational standards.
Oversee roster completion and promptly arrange for replacements to cover staffing gaps.
Monitor overtime closely to ensure efficient labor cost management.
Organize and lead Orientation Days for new hires.
Issue "Starter Packs" including summaries of essential SOPs, vacation leave policies, and historical memos.
Facilitate comprehensive inductions covering team introductions, critical SOPs, and fire evacuation protocols.
Conduct informal performance appraisals at the one-month and five-month marks, gathering peer feedback to encourage initiative and growth.
Manage the staff review cycle through monthly/quarterly meetings and annual appraisals.
Drive staff engagement and motivation initiatives to foster a positive work culture.
Maintain accurate records of all official and unofficial warnings.
Proactively analyze and address high turnover rates.
Ensure all staff maintain a professional, smart, and clean appearance in their uniforms.
Develop and manage the annual staff training schedule and budget.
Coordinate course attendance for carers while maintaining adequate on-site staffing levels.
Facilitate specialized training for nurses, customer care for front office staff, and leadership skills for senior clinical roles.
Plan and execute staff activities, including summer and Christmas parties and team-building events like picnics.
Manage the dedicated budget for all social and team-building events.
Monitor sick leave patterns to minimize abuse and ensure policy compliance.
Analyze sick leave statistics to identify and report on trends.
Compliance: Maintain and uphold the firm’s Equality Mark Certification.
Requirements
Degree in Human Resources Management, Psychology, Business Administration or related field.
Proven experience in an HR generalist or management position, ideally within the Maltese healthcare sector.
Solid understanding of Maltese Employment Law and Industrial Relations.
Experience in roster management and staffing optimization within 24/7 operational environments.
Demonstrated ability to manage the full recruitment lifecycle, from sourcing to onboarding.
Skill in conducting formal appraisals and developing engagement strategies to reduce turnover.
Excellent interpersonal skills with fluency in English and Maltese.
Strong organizational skills with a proactive mindset and a focus on meticulous record-keeping.
