Our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Hotel Operations & Commercial Manager to play a key
leadership role in driving operational excellence, guest experience, and revenue performance.
This position combines rooms operations, guest experience leadership, sales, marketing, and
commercial planning, and is ideal for a hospitality professional looking to step into a broad, senior
management role with real influence on the hotel’s performance and culture.
Guest Experience
- Personally manage daily arrival lists with advance guest contact to create a differentiated welcome experience.
- Conduct personal in-stay guest follow-ups.
- Lead daily management of online guest feedback on TripAdvisor, Booking.com, and Expedia, driving continuous improvement.
- Work hand-in-hand with housekeeping to make sure all maintenance work is being followed through and cleanliness is up to standard.
- Making sure that our breakfast offering, as well as all areas related to F&B are within budget, and that clients are satisfied with what is being offered to them.
Commercial, Sales & Marketing
- Lead forward occupancy and rate planning with monthly reporting.
- Drive sales actions to grow local corporate business, events, and group demand.
- Implement marketing and website actions to grow local leisure and international longer-stay markets.
- Develop meaningful and distinctive local guest experiences that position the hotel as a destination in southern Malta.
Leadership & Development
- Work closely with departmental leaders to reinforce service standards and team engagement.
- Gain functional competency across Sales Management and Rooms Executive responsibilities.
- Reports directly to Directors.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong preference for candidates from the hospitality industry.
- Proven experience managing teams and coordinating across departments.
- Commercially minded with an understanding of revenue, sales, and guest satisfaction drivers.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Hands-on, guest-focused, and service-driven personality.
Requirements
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Maltese or additional languages is an advantage.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in hospitality
