Occupational Health and Safety Officer

Our client, specialising in Aviation is seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Officer to join their growing team. Reporting to the Compliance Manager your responsibilities will include:

• Drafting and revising safety policies and procedures.
• Conducting thorough risk assessments and implementing preventive measures.
• Identifying and mitigating occupational hazards.
• Conducting regular safety inspections to identify and rectify unsafe practices.
• Developing and enforcing safety checklists to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Supervising the provision and utilisation of Personal Protective Equipment.
• Providing training and resources to uphold a safe working environment.

Working Hours: Monday - Friday: 0630hrs - 1500hrs

Requirements

• Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Authority Act XXVII of 2000.
• Proficiency in English with effective communication capabilities.
• Strong organisational and planning skills.
• Leadership qualities and strong interpersonal skills.
• Competency in MS Office Suite and other management software.

Education and Experience

• Possession of OHS certifications such as NEBOSH or a Higher Diploma would be advantageous.
