Our client is looking for an EPHS Officer. You will support the EPHS Manager in maintaining and improving the Environmental, Public Health & Safety (EPHS) Management System. This role involves ensuring compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, and supporting environmental and sustainability initiatives across the organisation.
Responsibilities
Support the management of workplace health and safety practices
Assist in the investigation of incidents and accidents, including reporting, follow-ups, and closure
Coordinate safety meetings and track action points
Manage the stock, storage, and distribution of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Support occupational hygiene campaigns and general safety initiatives
Participate in internal audits and routine inspections
Lead and follow up on CAPA actions related to incidents, audits, and risk assessments
Provide support to the Health and Safety Committee
Assist in ensuring compliance with environmental permits and regulatory requirements
Stay updated on relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation
Coordinate and deliver internal HSE training
Support awareness campaigns to promote a strong HSE culture
Oversee classification and segregation of waste
Liaise with waste management contractors
Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste, including documentation and shipments
Maintain documentation and procedures in line with ISO 14001 standards
Support environmental monitoring and sustainability data collection
Assist in the operation and monitoring of the wastewater treatment plant (WWTP)
Participate in audits and routine environmental activities
Assist in organising and executing emergency drills, including fire drills
Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with GMP standards and internal quality systems
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within GMP processes
Requirements
Advanced Diploma in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related scientific field
Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT tools
Strong command of English
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Capable of handling pressure and adapting to changing priorities
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Previous experience in a similar role will be considered an asset
