Chief Medical Officer

We are looking for a Chief Medical Officer to head the Clinical Governance Team and provide expert medical support across global operations.

This is a senior leadership role combining clinical expertise, operational oversight, and in-field medical involvement. You will lead a team of medical professionals, support remote sites in real time, and play a key role in air ambulance missions as a Flight Doctor.

The role requires someone who is equally comfortable shaping strategy, mentoring teams, and stepping into high-pressure clinical situations—including medevac coordination and emergency response.

What You’ll Be Doing

Clinical Leadership & Governance

• Lead and manage the Clinical Governance Team, ensuring high standards of care across all operations
• Set and maintain global clinical standards, protocols, and procedures
• Oversee quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across all medical services
• Report on clinical performance and key issues to senior leadership and board level

Operations & Project Support

• Work closely with operations and project teams to design medical services for new and existing projects
• Define staffing, equipment, and service requirements based on client needs
• Conduct audits of medical services across sites and ensure compliance with international standards
• Support ongoing service delivery and troubleshoot operational challenges

Team Development & Training

• Lead, mentor, and support medical staff across multiple locations
• Identify training needs and contribute to development programmes
• Oversee onboarding, inductions, and continuous professional development (CPD/CME) initiatives
• Build a strong, consistent, and high-performing global medical team

Topside & Remote Support

• Provide 24/7 on-call clinical support to remote sites
• Support medevac coordination and complex case management
• Deliver telemedicine services and clinical guidance to teams worldwide
• Review and follow up on topside cases and reports

Flight Doctor & Air Ambulance Operations

• Participate in air ambulance missions as part of the medical crew
• Assess patients and ensure appropriate “fit to fly” decisions
• Support mission planning, patient care, and coordination with flight operations
• Work with internal teams and third-party providers to ensure smooth execution of missions
• Contribute to quality assurance and compliance within the air ambulance service

Quality, Compliance & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure all services meet regulatory, clinical, and industry standards
• Work closely with Quality teams on risk management and service improvement
• Maintain and update clinical protocols and procedures
• Drive innovation and improvements across medical operations
  

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

• Medical Doctor specialising in Emergency Medicine, Anaesthesiology, or Intensive Care
• Registered with a Medical Council in a European jurisdiction
• Minimum 7+ years’ experience in acute clinical settings
• Experience in remote medicine, assistance platforms, or similar environments across a chain of hospitals or clinics is a must
• At least 3 years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory role
• Certifications such as ATLS, ACLS, PHTLS, PALS (or willingness to obtain)

Additional Requirements

• Availability for on-call work, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Willingness to travel to sites and participate in missions
• Strong written and spoken English
• Additional languages such as French, Arabic, or Portuguese are an asset
