Our client is seeking an Auditor Doctor responsible for the medical review, clinical validation, and cost management of international travel assistance cases. The role ensures that treatments, hospitalizations, evacuations, and repatriations are medically appropriate, evidence-based, and compliant with policy terms and international standards
Key Responsibilities:
Medical Review & Case Assessment: Validate travel medical cases (treatment, hospitalization, evacuation, repatriation), assess necessity, and provide clinical recommendations; escalate complex cases
Cost Control & Compliance: Ensure adherence to clinical guidelines and policy terms, review high-cost cases, validate invoices, and identify over-treatment or billing issues
Coordination: Liaise with international providers and internal teams; support medical input in provider discussions and negotiations
Governance & Quality: Support clinical protocols, audits, peer reviews, and ensure regulatory and ethical compliance
Reporting: Maintain documentation and produce reports on case trends, costs, and clinical risk
Requirements
Medical Degree (MD or equivalent) and valid license
5–10 years clinical experience
Strong clinical judgment and analytical skills
Understanding of international healthcare systems
Ability to balance quality of care and cost efficiency
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Autonomous decision-making in high-pressure environments
Fluent in English
Desirable Skills
Background in Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, General Practice, Anesthesiology, or Critical Care
Experience in Travel/Tropical Medicine
Experience in medical assistance, insurance, utilization review, or claims
Familiarity with international healthcare coordination
