Our client is seeking a results-driven General Manager to lead operations at a large health and fitness facility. The role focuses on driving membership growth, leading the team, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
The Main Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team, including an Operations Manager, Fitness Manager, receptionists, and instructors (approx. 20 staff).
- Oversee daily operations, ensuring facilities are maintained, clean, safe, and fully operational.
- Drive membership growth and retention, focusing on rebuilding the client base post-refurbishment.
- Generate innovative ideas for classes, events, and member initiatives; collaborate with marketing to implement campaigns.
- Manage staff schedules, inventory, procurement, and operational processes.
- Monitor financial performance, budgets, and KPIs, including employee, customer, and financial metrics.
- Analyse operational and membership data to inform business strategy and reporting.
- Conduct spot checks and address operational issues, including occasional weekend flexibility.
- Foster a culture of innovation, performance, and exceptional member experience.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:30 – 17:30 (flexibility required for urgent matters/weekend spot checks)

Education and Experience
- Senior management experience in a hospitality environment
- Proven track record in driving membership growth, financial management, and budgeting
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and operational processes
- Fitness qualifications advantageous (e.g., personal training or instruction)
