General Manager - Catering Operations

  Central Malta  |  €110,000 - €125,000 Annually 

Reporting to the CEO & Chairperson, as the General Manager of our client's international catering operations, you will spearhead the delivery of high-quality catering services for weddings, corporate events, state dinners, and large conferences. This role demands an individual with a proven track record in managing upscale and highly efficient operations, aimed at expanding business locally and internationally as well as elevating existing standards of quality and efficiency:

Duties:

Strategic Planning and Execution

  • Develop and execute business strategies focused on international expansion and superior market penetration.
  • Drive the enhancement of operational procedures and service offerings, maintaining alignment with top-tier global industry standards.

Operational Management

  • Oversee the entire operations of the catering business, ensuring excellence in the execution of large-scale events and high-profile engagements.
  • Manage all aspects of logistics, from sophisticated sourcing and efficient production to precise delivery and event setup.
  • Uphold rigorous standards of food safety and regulatory compliance.

Financial Oversight

  • Direct budgeting, financial forecasting, and resource allocation, championing cost-efficiency through strategic sourcing and effective procurement.
  • Lead a structured financial team to ensure fiscal discipline and transparency across all projects.

Quality Control

  • Implement stringent quality control measures to consistently enhance the culinary experience across various events.
  • Utilise client feedback to refine service quality, ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to industry trends.

Client Relations and Business Development

  • Build and maintain robust relationships with clients, ensuring a management presence that enhances client trust during significant events.
  • Actively pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships to promote growth and market presence.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead a dynamic team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Foster team development to align with evolving business needs and market demands, ensuring all members are highly motivated and proficient.

Reporting and Compliance

  • Provide comprehensive updates to the CEO regarding business progress, operational challenges, and strategic opportunities.
  • Ensure adherence to all legal, ethical, and regulatory frameworks.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated capability in strategic planning and execution with a focus on international business development
  • Highly numerate, with robust analytical skills and the capacity to lead complex budget management.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing client relationships and large team dynamics in high-stress situations.
  • Willingness to travel and manage operations across various international contexts.
  • Exceptional leadership qualities, including high energy, a can-do attitude, and the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team

Education and Experience

  • Extensive experience in managing upscale catering or hospitality operations, with a proven track record of high efficiency and achievement
