A global, fast-growing organisation is seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Operations Officer (COO) to lead and scale its international operations. This is a high-impact executive role suited to a strategic leader who thrives in complex, multi-regional environments and is passionate about driving operational excellence, growth, and innovation.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping the organisation’s global footprint, overseeing operations, enhancing performance, and ensuring the delivery of exceptional services across diverse markets. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a key member of the senior leadership team, influencing strategic direction and organisational success.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Oversee global operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and performance across all sites
- Lead cross-functional teams to meet strategic objectives and KPIs
- Ensure optimal resource planning, asset management, and service delivery
Strategic Growth
- Develop and execute expansion strategies across international markets
- Identify new business opportunities, partnerships, and ventures
- Drive innovation, including digital transformation initiatives
Financial Management
- Own P&L performance, budgeting, and financial planning
- Drive revenue growth while maintaining cost discipline
- Provide insightful reporting and recommendations to executive leadership
People & Culture
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a diverse, geographically dispersed leadership team
- Build a high-performance, accountable, and collaborative culture
- Champion talent development, succession planning, and continuous learning
Governance & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to international regulatory, legal, and ethical standards
- Manage risk, maintain accreditations, and implement best practices
- Act as a key liaison with regulators, partners, and stakeholders globally
Stakeholder Engagement
- Represent the organisation at industry events and with key clients
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, investors, and authorities
What We’re Looking For
- Proven C-suite experience (ideally as a COO) within an international environment, preferably in Africa
- Background in healthcare or a similarly complex, regulated industry
- Strong track record of managing large-scale operations and budgets
- Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership capability
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience in multi-site, cross-border operations
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree (Master’s preferred) in Business, Engineering, Project Management, or related field
- Strong financial acumen and operational expertise
- Excellent organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Advanced English required; additional languages are an asset
