Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Our client a leading player in Malta’s retail, is seeking a visionary Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the organisation into its next phase of growth. The CEO will provide overall strategic direction, ensure sustainable profitability, and strengthen the Group’s market position across its diverse business units. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the CEO will have full P&L responsibility, oversee the leadership team across all its business and support services, and drive excellence in business growth, customer experience, operational performance, and organisational culture.

The Role

• Developing and executing a long-term growth strategy for the Group, balancing innovation with operational stability.

• Identifying and capitalising on new market opportunities.

• Ensuring all business units are aligned with the Group’s vision, mission, and values.

Operational Excellence

• Overseeing and integrating the performance of retail, catering, and support divisions to maximise efficiency and profitability.

• Implementing group-wide KPIs and performance management frameworks.

• Ensuring compliance with all legal, safety, and quality standards, including Occupational Health & Safety and fire regulations.

Financial Leadership

• Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

• Safeguarding profitability through robust cost management and revenue growth strategies.

• Presenting timely performance reports and strategic recommendations to the Board.

Commercial Growth

• Directing the Group’s marketing, branding, and customer engagement strategies.

• Fostering strong relationships with key clients, suppliers, and stakeholders.

• Championing innovation in product development, service delivery, and customer experience.

People & Culture

• Lead, mentor, and inspire the senior leadership team.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

• Attract, retain, and develop top talent at all levels of the organisation.

Requirements

  • Have an MBA or equivalent Masters degree in Business, Management, or a related field.
  • Have a minimum 8–10 years in senior leadership, ideally with experience spanning both retail and hospitality/catering.
  • Proven track record in driving business growth and profitability.
  • Strong commercial acumen with strategic and operational agility.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills.
  • Outstanding communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Passion for quality, customer service, and brand excellence.
