A client of ours starting up their operations in Malta, specialised within the Financial industry, is looking to onboard a Risk & Compliance Analyst to join their growing team. The designated person will work closely with the Compliance and Risk Manager, the MLRO, and senior management, supporting the embedding of a strong risk culture and ensuring alignment with Maltese and EU regulatory expectations.
Duties:
Support the execution of periodic enterprise and operational risk assessments across business functions.
Assist in monitoring adherence to the Company’s Risk Management Framework and risk appetite.
Support the operational resilience programme, including mapping important business services; identifying vulnerabilities and dependencies; and monitoring impact tolerances.
Maintain and update the Company’s Risk Register, ensuring timely identification, documentation and escalation of key risks.
Contribute to business continuity and incident response testing and reviews, conducting root cause analysis
Prepare structured summaries and support remediation tracking.
Assist in monitoring compliance with applicable Maltese and EU regulatory requirements, including PSD2, MiFID, AML/CFT and safeguarding frameworks.
Support preparation of regulatory reports, internal control documentation and governance materials.
Assist with regulatory audits, inspections and internal reviews.
Prepare dashboards, key risk indicators (KRIs) and management information for the Risk Committee and senior leadership.
Support scenario analysis, stress testing and risk reporting.
Work closely with IT, Operations, Finance, Compliance and external service providers to identify and manage emerging risks, supporting implementation of control improvements and risk mitigation actions.
Requirements
2–3 years’ local experience in risk, compliance, audit, operations or internal control within a regulated financial services environment.
Familiarity with operational resilience concepts, including business service mapping.
Understanding of enterprise and operational risk principles.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Understanding of fintech, payments or FX business models.
