Our client is seeking to recruit an Accountant who will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations ensuring accurate financial records, timely reporting, and full compliance with statutory, tax, and Group requirements.
Duties include:
Record sales receipts
Issue invoices, credit notes, and monthly statements
Maintain accurate debtor records, including start/end dates and changes.
Maintain and update the debtors’ Excel tracking sheet.
Ensure supplier invoices are properly authorised before payment.
Process payments and record supplier invoices
Perform supplier account reconciliations and maintain filing of all invoices.
Manage vendor correspondence and outstanding balances
Manage cash and cheque reconciliations; prepare deposits and physically visit the bank.
Record all bank transactions and reconcile bank statements
Handle payroll queries and prepare payslips and FS3.
Submit FS5 forms and process monthly tax and social security payments.
Prepare and review VAT returns; calculate unclaimable VAT.
Submit VAT payments and record relevant journal entries.
Support annual tax computations and statutory returns.
Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
Support the creation of budget forecasts and presentations to the Board.
Provide updates on company liquidity, cash flow, and financial health.
Support in audit preparation
Requirements
Minimum 5–10 years of local accounting experience
Fully ACCA qualified or in the final stages of ACCA
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and reconciliations.
Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage confidential information
