Technical Sales Engineer

One of our clients is searching for a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team. 

Key responsibilities:

• Manage existing telecom clients, providing technical advice and support for fiber optic testing and electronic network equipment.
• Recommend suitable test and measurement solutions based on customer network requirements; deliver product demos and pre-sales consultations.
• Perform equipment testing (mainly fiber optics), interpret results, and provide technical reports and recommendations.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, BOQs, and respond to RFQs/tenders.
• Provide troubleshooting, training, and ongoing technical support post-sale.
• Identify and pursue new leads within the telecom sector, growing the customer base across both product lines.
• Stay updated on fiber optics, network technologies, and electronic test equipment to advise clients effectively.

The gross annual salary advertised excludes the commission structure, which is in place. 

Requirements

• Candidates must be in Malta already
• Candidates must be able to travel abroad occassionally for training purposes
• Excellent organizational, communication, negotiation and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a tight-knit team
• Candidates must be pro-active, mature, and able to work under pressure
• Fluency in English is a must; Maltese highly preferred

Education and Experience

• Qualification in Electrical/Electronics Engineering is a must
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Candidates with prior experience in project management or building management systems is a huge plus
