Ship Repair Manager

  South of Malta  |  €40,000 - €70,000 Annually 

We are looking for a Ship Repair Manager to join an international shipyard with an operation in Malta.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise all ship repair and maintenance activities, both in the shipyard and in dry dock.
  • Plan repair works in collaboration with shipowners, superintendents, and captains, ensuring deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Manage the technical team and specialized workforce (welders, mechanics, electricians, ship carpenters).
  • Monitor and control suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with technical standards and quality requirements.
  • Ensure safe operations in compliance with international and local regulations (IMO, SOLAS, etc.).
  • Troubleshoot technical and organizational issues that may arise during repair activities.
  • Manage the allocated budget, monitoring expenses and optimizing resources.
  • Prepare technical documentation and progress reports for stakeholders.
  • Guarantee the final quality of the repair works before redelivery of the vessel to the shipowner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in ship repair, shipbuilding, or maritime maintenance.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams.
  • Solid knowledge of maritime safety regulations and international industry standards.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • Problem-solving attitude and ability to prioritize tasks in complex environments.
  • Availability to travel to shipyards and ports, including international assignments.
