We are looking for a Quality Officer to join a leading shipyard in Malta.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with internal quality management systems (QMS) and procedures;
- Conduct internal audits and inspections across departments and production areas;
- Review project documentation to verify conformity with international standards and client requirements;
- Collaborate with departments to identify quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions;
- Analyze quality data and prepare regular reports for management review;
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001);
- Ensure materials and components meet required specifications before being used in production;
- Assist in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints related to quality;
- Deliver training and awareness sessions to improve quality culture within the shipyard.
Requirements:
- Qualification in Quality Management, Engineering or a related field;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a quality assurance or control role, preferably in the maritime or industrial sector;
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or other relevant quality standards;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Fluent spoken and written English, Italian would be an asset;
- Attention to detail and ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
