Our client, a Manufacturing company, is looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The chosen candidate will perform the following duties:
Quality & Customer Complaints
- Manage customer complaints using the 8D methodology, ensuring timely responses and closure of corrective actions.
- Coordinate and support departments in problem-solving activities.
- Communicate complaints promptly to relevant management to prevent the production or shipment of non-conforming products.
- Exercise authority to stop production or shipment where quality risks are identified.
Quality Management System (QMS)
- Ensure the QMS complies with IATF 16949:2016 requirements.
- Maintain the integrity of the QMS by ensuring updated and approved documentation is correctly uploaded and controlled within the QMS system.
- Report QMS performance, risks, and improvement opportunities to management, including top management.
- Implement system improvements following internal and external audit findings.
- Monitor and support the implementation of IATF 16949:2016 across all departments.
Inspection, Testing & Metrology
- Use quality laboratory equipment to investigate parts, including customer-returned samples.
- Perform metrological confirmation and calibration checks according to defined schedules and procedures.
- Review and approve inspection plans.
- Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) as required.
- Verify tool approvals and communicate results to relevant business units.
Product & Process Quality
- Review new quotation requests to ensure quality requirements are defined and achievable, including dimensions, tolerances, surface finish, and certification needs.
- Assign and confirm part numbers based on quotation reviews.
- Review and approve technical drawings, identifying product safety and special characteristics and ensuring correct communication of requirements.
- Ensure understanding and application of customer-specific requirements, including technical cleanliness standards for automotive parts.
- Use customer portals (e.g. CAQ, Process Director) as required.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor departmental KPIs and propose corrective actions where targets are not met.
- Promote a strong customer-focused culture across the organisation.
- Support the selection and implementation of effective preventive and corrective actions.
Environment, Health & Safety (EHS)
- Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 requirements.
- Ensure all environmental, health, and safety instructions are implemented and communicated effectively.
- Participate in risk reduction initiatives and safety improvement plans.
- Report hazards, near misses, and injuries immediately upon awareness.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Hons.) or equivalent.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of statistics; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt is an advantage.
- Knowledge of customer-specific requirements and applicable quality core tools.
- Technical understanding of manufacturing processes and product requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
