Our client, a leading Transportation Provider in Malta, is recruiting an Automotive Engineer to ensure that preventative and corrective maintenance of the fleet is performed using reliable parts, in line with the best engineering practices.
Reporting to the Engineering Director, your duties will include:
- Providing technical support and advice to management and workshop staff on fleet management issues to maintain continuous improvement and quality control
- Identifying technical and operational solutions to current workshop and fleet problems
- Preparing technical reports to assist management in making informed decisions
- Developing improvement proposal reports based on technical analysis
- Assisting the technical department in planning and executing campaigns, reforms, and improvements to achieve departmental targets
- Collaborating with the workshop manager to refine the fleet inspection plan, reducing breakdowns and increasing mean time between failures (MTBF)
- Receiving training from manufacturers, relay this information to subordinates, and lead training programs for workshop personnel
- Working closely with workshop supervisors to make prompt technical decisions
- Planning human and material resources as required to sustain the workshop operation
Requirements
- Warranted Mechanical Engineering with 3 years working experience, specifically on buses.
- Knowledge of Euro 5 and 6 diesel engine mechanics
- Good organization skills and adaptability
- Good diagnostics, problem detection and problem-solving skills
- Analysis of complex mechanical / electrical incidents and definition of the next steps for its resolution
- Ability to provide guidance to colleagues on technical matters
Education and Experience
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering is desired
