We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join a well-established company in Malta. This role combines mechanical engineering expertise with strong commercial acumen, focusing on Air Conditioning, HVAC, and Alternative Energy systems.
The successful candidate will be responsible for designing efficient solutions, preparing technical proposals, and driving business growth while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Manage client enquiries and provide expert technical guidance
Design and size HVAC systems, including heat pumps, ventilation, and underfloor heating
Prepare detailed technical quotations, proposals, and submissions
Participate in tendering processes, including specification review and cost estimation
Identify and secure new business opportunities
Maintain strong relationships with existing clients
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution
Monitor project progress and provide ongoing client support
Ensure timely follow-up on quotations and submissions
Maintain accurate technical and commercial documentation
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Experience in HVAC, air conditioning, or mechanical systems design (preferred)
Strong understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
Ability to perform system sizing and load calculations
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design tools is an asset
Experience with tenders, BOQs, and technical submissions is highly advantageous
Strong communication and client-facing skills
Commercial awareness with a results-driven mindset
Good organizational and time-management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
