Our client, a leading manufacturing company, is looking to recruit a Manufacturing Support Engineer to join their growing team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the chosen candidate will be responsible to:
Lead cost reduction initiatives and Manufacturing Excellence / Lean / Six Sigma projects
Improve process yields, cycle times, and machine uptime
Lead continuous improvement initiatives and actively participate in Lean and Six Sigma activities
Enhance shop floor organisation through the implementation and sustainment of 5S methodology
Participate in Gemba walks and daily stand-up meetings
Ensure product quality meets required standards through effective engineering activities
Maintain and update Process Instructions, Control Plans, FMEAs, and other quality documentation
Identify, implement, and monitor corrective and preventive actions to meet customer requirements
Stop any shipment suspected of containing non-conforming product
Address engineering-related concerns raised through the anomaly management system
Lead the qualification and introduction of new processes, machines, and equipment
Provide process engineering input for RFQs and capacity planning in a timely manner
Maintain and update tool inventory as required
Raise and manage documentation for ordering new tools
Optimise tool design to improve productivity, yield, and process robustness
Conduct training for shop floor operatives as required
Ensure all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) instructions are implemented and followed
Ensure safety performance and expectations are clearly communicated
Participate in risk reduction plans and safety improvement initiatives
Requirements
Must hold proactive, practical and hands on approach
Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Able to work in a team and maintain relationships both internal and external
Able to work independently and in a team
Strong team player with the ability to build effective internal and external relationships
Education and Experience
Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering is a must
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Maltese
