We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will become a key technical expert for a dedicated group of production assets. This role focuses on driving reliable, efficient, and safe operations by designing and implementing effective maintenance and operational practices. Responsibilities will include:
Equipment & Process Reliability
- Track and review production line performance daily, addressing any irregularities to keep processes stable and consistent.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies using data-driven insights.
- Lead problem-solving efforts to identify root causes and implement sustainable improvements.
Project & Development Support
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams to deliver improvements and upgrades within the assigned equipment area.
- Assist new product introductions by supporting prototype builds, testing activities, and specification development.
- Produce technical documentation and training materials to ensure smooth handover of projects to full-scale production.
Health, Safety & Workplace Standards
- Actively contribute to a strong safety culture by adhering to and promoting health and safety practices.
- Verify that all protective systems are maintained effectively, and ensure safe practices during maintenance and operational activities.
- Uphold a clean, orderly, and well-structured work environment through consistent application of 5S standards.
Requirements
- Candidates must be working in Malta already
- Familiarity of food packaging and/or processing equipment
- Familiarity with GMPs, Safe Food Handling, HACCP and HSE guidelines
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD
- Hands on knowledge of project management techniques
- Continuous improvement through the development of procedures and processes
- Leadership, analytical and excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English is a must; Maltese highly preferred
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering is a must
- Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
