Maintenance Manager

We are looking for a Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations in a food production industry. This role involves managing a team of maintenance technicians and ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of machinery, equipment. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing budgets, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and lead a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
• Assign tasks and responsibilities to team members, ensuring efficient work allocation.
• Develop and implement maintenance strategies to optimize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Establish preventive maintenance programs, schedules, and procedures.
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of production machinery, equipment, and facilities.
• Develop and manage the maintenance department budget, including expenses for labour, spare parts, equipment, and contractors.
• Monitor expenses, control costs, and identify opportunities for cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety standards.
• Strong technical knowledge of maintenance principles, techniques, and best practices. This includes understanding various equipment and machinery used in the industry, troubleshooting skills, and knowledge of relevant regulatory and safety standards.
• Collaborate with procurement and supply chain departments to source and manage vendors, suppliers, and service providers.

Requirements:

• Qualification equivalent to MQF 5 may be considered if the candidate has at least 2 years of experience in a managerial role, alternatively possession of a qualification equivalent to MQF 6 in Mechanical, Mechatronics or Electrical, Electronics, or a related engineering field.
• Proven experience in maintenance management.
• Strong knowledge of maintenance principles, techniques, and best practices.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and drive cost efficiencies.
• Sound understanding of safety regulations and risk management.
• Familiarity with food safety regulations and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO) would be considered as an asset.
• Wireman License A or B would be considered as an asset
