Maintenance & Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineering & Maintenance Manager to lead the Maintenance and Engineering (E&M) department. Reporting directly to the Head of Operations, you will be responsible for ensuring that all machinery, equipment, and plant services are efficiently deployed and maintained in accordance with quality, productivity, and legislative standards. Ensuring the facilities, layout and machinery run to their maximum efficiency and output 

• Lead, manage, and develop the M&E department, overseeing recruitment, coaching, and staff motivation.
• Conduct periodic employee performance reviews and ensure staff are properly trained.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures and preventive schedules to minimize downtime.
• Ensure all machinery and equipment maintenance adheres to GMP, health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Identify business improvement opportunities and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with internal department managers and external stakeholders, including suppliers, contractors, and insurers.
• Lead new machinery projects from the specification stage through to commissioning.
• Create and manage annual maintenance budget proposals and oversee the collection of relevant department data and activity logs.
• Setup KPIs aligned with company goals and prepare relevant reports and presentations.

Education and Experience  

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering  
• A local Engineering Warrant is a must 
• Minimum of 3 years of work experience at a leadership level in a technical/manufacturing environment 
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes and LEAN principles  
• Fluency in Maltese & English
