The Facilities manager will manage and schedule maintenance and coordinate with his facilities team across the plant. You will coordinate between the internal team and external contractors to ensure all of the facilities are operating smoothly, safely, and with minimal disruption.
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance Scheduling: Plan, schedule, and coordinate routine and emergency maintenance across the facility, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Vendor Coordination: Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and service providers to arrange timely repairs, installations, and servicing.
- Preventative Maintenance: Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and prolong equipment life.
- Issue Tracking: Monitor and log maintenance issues reported by outlet managers, and ensure they are resolved promptly and efficiently.
- Budget & Cost Tracking: Together with the HOD, you track costs related to maintenance and repairs, ensuring work is completed within budget.
- Compliance: Ensure all maintenance work complies with health, safety, and operational standards as per the provided list.
- Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports on maintenance status, pending tasks, and completed projects to management on the ticketing system.
- Emergency Response: Be the first point of contact for urgent matters, then delegate the tasks to the appropriate on-call team members.
- Weekly meetings: Conduct weekly meetings with the team to review progress and update management.
Requirements:
- A Degree in the Mechanical or Electrical field will be considered as an asset, or a minimum 3 year experience in leading a facility or maintenance team
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and vendor negotiation skills
- Ability to manage time-sensitive projects and respond quickly to urgent needs
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and scheduling tools
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Good communication skills in English, Maltese is highly preferred.
