We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Civil Work Site Manager to lead and coordinate on-site construction activities across projects. This senior operational role is responsible for ensuring that works are executed safely, efficiently, on time, within budget, and in full compliance with contractual and quality requirements.
What You’ll Be Doing
Administration & Coordination
Set up site temporary facilities in line with contractual requirements
Maintain a detailed Site Diary capturing daily site activities
Liaise with relevant authorities throughout project execution
Attend commercial and progress meetings with clients and subcontractors
Organisation & Planning
Prepare bending schedules and formwork requirements
Identify internal works and required support services
Maintain and update the Drawing Register
Execute works in line with the approved Programme of Works
Issue RFIs for unclear or incomplete construction details
Personnel Management
Supervise and coordinate company employees and subcontractors
Monitor and control overtime usage
Ensure compliance with employment and building regulations
Maintain a safe, organised, and well-supervised work environment
Ensure accurate and timely completion of daily timesheets
Plant & Equipment Management
Plan and schedule plant and equipment requirements
Liaise with Construction and Plant & Logistics Managers on availability
Approve outsourced plant and equipment service documentation
Materials Management
Plan and schedule materials in line with project timelines
Submit Purchase Orders in a timely and structured manner
Monitor supplier performance and material deliveries
Ensure Material Reconciliation Reports are completed
Cost Control
Deliver works within approved project budgets
Review budgets and identify cost risks with the Contracts Manager
Monitor site costs against the Bill of Quantities
Analyse cost reports and explain variances
Support the Quantity Surveyor with measurements and payment applications
Quality Control
Review technical documentation and project specifications
Ensure works meet required quality standards and specifications
Maintain continuous on-site supervision
Ensure correct materials and workmanship at all times
Coordinate defect rectification and corrective actions
Reporting
Provide regular progress updates to the Construction Manager
Immediately report accidents, incidents, or site-related issues
What We’re Looking For
Proven local experience in civil works management
Strong leadership and planning skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Good level of English, Maltese is highly preferred
