Our client is seeking a high-caliber Project Lead: Automation Engineer to join their team. This role is designed for a strategic professional who will serve as the primary technical lead of the project pipeline, leading technical ventures from initial acquisition to final commissioning.
The Main Responsibilities include:
Project Acquisition & Strategic Growth
Identify automation opportunities with current clients and perform market research to generate new leads.
Bid for tenders using strategic cost analysis, resource allocation, and risk management.
Translate complex client requirements into bespoke technical solutions and provide professional quotations.
Oversee the progress of tenders and act as the senior technical voice in negotiations.
Project Management & Team Leadership
Manage the design phase and direct the programming of PLCs, HMIs, and VSDs.
Lead a multidisciplinary team including mechatronic engineers, system integrators, technicians, and assistant
Own the project lifecycle from "Won" to "Commissioned," ensuring all work meets high technical standards
Monitor project budgets and maintain rigorous technical quality control.
Ensure all work is highly organised and meets "perfectionist" standards.
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday, 8AM - 5PM
Requirements
High proficiency in PLC, HMI, VSD systems, robotics, and servo drives.
Exceptional leadership skills; fluency in Maltese is considered a significant advantage.
Valid driving license
Education and Experience
3+ years of professional experience in technical lead or project management roles within industrial automation
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Essential experience within the manufacturing industry and the local Maltese market.
