Data Engineer

A leading Maltese financial institution is looking for a Data Engineer to be part of a team of engineers. 

The job involves working with a combination of cloud-based and on-premises technologies to build and sustain the data platform and all data pipelines for business users and applications. 

Main Responsibilities:

• Comprehend primary aspects of Data Engineering: Data Management, DataOps, Security, Data Architecture, Orchestration, and Software Engineering.
• Apply concepts across various concerns: cost, agility, scalability, simplicity, reuse, and interoperability.
• Generate and capture data from various sources.
• Ingest diverse types of data (structured, semi-structured, unstructured), transform it into valuable assets, serve it to stakeholders, and manage storage as a foundational component.

Requirements

• A minimum of Two (2) years demonstrable experience in developing data engineering pipelines on cloud environments.
• Preference may be given should you possess any related industry certifications.
• Utilize cloud-based data platforms, preferably Azure.
• Demonstrate proficiency in Python and data-related libraries, and operate effectively in CLI environments like bash or PowerShell.

Education and Experience

• An MQF Level 6 Degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Data Engineering, Software Development or related areas.
