We are seeking a proactive and highly organized Product Support Officer to join our dynamic service team, supporting operations in the HORECA sector (Hotel, Restaurant, and Catering). The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring smooth technical workflows by providing timely and accurate technical documentation to field technicians and workshop staff, while also managing parts orders and liaising with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to technical support requests from workshop and field technicians.
Provide accurate technical documentation including:
Exploded views of components and assemblies
Electrical and hydraulic schematics
Workshop and user manuals
Manufacturer bulletins and service updates
Maintain and update the technical documentation library.
Identify parts required for repairs and maintenance and manage the procurement process:
Prepare and place orders with local and international suppliers
Track and follow up on order delivery and stock status
Ensure proper documentation and labelling of received parts
Assist in diagnosing technical issues in collaboration with technicians and manufacturers.
Maintain accurate records of support requests, parts usage, and equipment specifications.
Support the coordination of warranty claims and aftersales support with manufacturers.
Ensure compliance with health and safety practices within the workshop environment.
Contribute to continuous improvement of internal processes and documentation standards.
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday - 8am -4.30pm.
Once every 3 weeks must work on Saturdays 8am -12pm.
Requirements
Technical diploma or degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronics Engineering (or similar field).
Previous experience in a technical support or workshop coordination role, preferably in the HORECA, catering, or food service equipment industry.
Understanding of kitchen equipment such as ovens, refrigeration units, dishwashers, fryers, etc.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, exploded views, and electrical schematics.
Familiarity with ERP systems and supplier ordering platforms is a plus.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (especially Word and Excel).
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with technicians, suppliers, and clients.
Education and Experience
Any qualification linked to the role will be considered an asset.
Excellent spoken and written both Maltese and English.
