Compliance Manager

Our client is recruiting for a Compliance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the company operates in compliance with Maltese laws and regulations. 

Duties include: 

• Ensure adherence to MFSA and FIAU regulations, including AML/CFT obligations
• Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the business
• Maintain and update compliance policies and procedures.
• Implement and manage AML/CFT frameworks including customer due diligence (CDD), enhanced due diligence (EDD), transaction monitoring, and sanctions screening.
•  Support the MLRO in preparing reports and liaising with regulators
• Prepare and submit regulatory reports and respond to inquiries from authorities.
• Conduct compliance risk assessments and gap analyses.
• Develop and maintain internal control systems to mitigate compliance risks.
• Deliver compliance training to staff.
• Promote a culture of compliance across the organization.
• Collaborate with legal, accounting, and senior management to ensure compliance is embedded in business processes.

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a compliance role, preferably within a CSP or financial services firm.
• Strong knowledge of Maltese regulatory frameworks, including AML/CFT legislation.
• Experience dealing with MFSA and FIAU is considered an asset.
• Local experience is required

Education and Experience

• Professional certifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) are considered an asset.
• A recognised bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or Finance, Law, Criminology or a relevant related field of study;
