Chief Operations Officer ( COO )

A reputable client of ours specialised in the Financial and Corporate sector is currently looking to onboard a Chief Operations Officer to join their team of professionals:

Duties:

• Develop strategic plans, and performance measures, enhancing and aligning with the Group’s strategic direction, while playing an active role in formulating the company's future direction and strategic initiatives.
• Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth to implement organisation-wide goal setting, performance management and measurement and annual operational planning.
• Take full responsibility and initiative in the smooth running of all the Group’s business operations.
• Directly oversee operations, and partner with the Board of Directors in developing and implementing business strategies accordingly
• Assist and collaborate with senior management in drafting of prospective operating budgets and determining cost effectiveness/analysis of prospective service delivery
• Liaise with and oversee the Finance, HR, Facilities, IT and Marketing departments to work in cohesion and within designated budgets
• Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans related to finance, developing financial and tax strategies, as well as spearheading actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives 
• Maintain and build trusted relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
• Be an active part in or chair meetings of senior management (Leadership Committee) presenting proposals to the Board of Directors as required.
• Monitor performance across teams and establish corrective measures, presenting both current and forecasted detailed reports
• Adhere to company, statutory and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking remediation action when necessary, ensuring risks are recognised and appropriate standards of governance and control are maintained.

Requirements

• Possess strong analytical, managerial, communication and leadership skills.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• A minimum of 5 + years of local experience, holding a similar leadership role with a strong background in Operations

Education and Experience

• Must be in possession of a university degree in business, management, finance, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA or equivalent) will be considered an asset.
