Our client works within the iGaming industry and is looking for a Data Protection Officer (DPO) to join their team.
What you'll be doing
Lead and support data protection compliance initiatives, including GDPR compliance activities, Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), and data mapping to support effective risk management.
Investigate and manage Personal Data Incidents and breaches, identifying root causes and implementing mitigation measures to prevent recurrence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (IT, Marketing, Online, HR, and Operations) to strengthen internal controls and ensure adherence to data protection requirements.
Manage Subject Access Requests (SARs), right-to-erasure requests, and customer data protection queries while maintaining procedures, SLAs, and accurate internal records.
Deliver internal training and awareness programmes to promote strong data protection and privacy practices across all office locations.
Support organisational compliance by contributing to data protection projects, monitoring regulatory developments, and providing reports and briefings to senior management.
For this role we are looking for someone who is eligible to a Key Function by the Malta Gaming Authority.
Requirements
2+ years local experience in Data Protection
Excellent verbal and written English
Attention to detail
Familiarity with international Privacy Regulations is a plus
Eligible to a Key Function by the MGA
Education and Experience
Essential qualifications include professional certification in data protection law (CIPP/E), program management (CIPM), or Technology (CIPT) from the International Association of Privacy Professionals or equivalent.
