Data Protection & Compliance Support Officer
North of Malta | €30,000 - €32,500 Annually
Our clients, a leading International retail company is looking to recruit a Data Protection & Compliance Support Officer to join their team.
Main Responsibilities:
- Advise the Group on GDPR and local data protection compliance across Europe and Africa, liaising with internal and external counsel where required.
- Monitor and oversee data protection compliance, including DPIAs, records of processing, audits, and privacy-by-design initiatives.
- Act as the main contact for data protection queries from internal teams, data subjects, and supervisory authorities.
- Develop, maintain, and update data protection policies, guidance, and training for employees.
- Monitor legislative changes and recommend updates to policies and procedures.
- Support responses to data subject requests and privacy breaches within legal timeframes.
- Liaise with third-party data processors to ensure compliance.
- Assist the Finance team with KYC requests and support wholesale client onboarding.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge and experience in data protection, privacy, and information governance.
- Understanding of corporate structures with basic knowledge of AML/FT policies and procedures.
Education and Experience
- MQF Level 6 degree in Law or a compliance-related discipline.
