Senior Business Risk and Control Officer

A prestigious financial services institution is expanding its team and is seeking a dynamic Senior Business Risk and Control Officer. This role offers broad exposure across the bank, with key collaboration opportunities involving IT, Risk and Compliance departments.

Responsibilities:

• Support the development and maintenance of the Bank’s risk registers and escalation processes.
• Evaluate processes and identify opportunities for risk reduction and operational efficiency.
• Assist in identifying, assessing, and reporting operational risks across the Bank's retail, commercial and digital channels 
• Track KPIs for operational risks and control effectiveness. Analyse data trends and provide insights to senior management, contributing to regular risk reporting and actionable recommendations as required.
• Assist the Senior Business Risk and Control Manager with risk-related projects
• Support the development and enforcement of data governance policies that ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of risk-related data and liaise with IT and other departments when required
• Assist in preparing and maintaining reports and documentation related to operational risks, data governance and control effectiveness. 
• Assist in delivering risk-related training sessions to staff, enhancing overall awareness of risk management practices, internal controls and compliance requirements
• Coordinate with internal audit and compliance teams to address audit findings and implement corrective actions.
• Other ad hoc reporting and tasks as required from time to time

Requirements

• At least 2 years of local experience in operational risk management, banking operations or related fields. Candidates with experience working with one of the regulators will also be considered.
• Knowledge of banking operations across retail, commercial and digital banking channels
• Good stakeholder management
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Education and Experience

• Ideally possess or in the process of obtaining a qualification in banking, finance or related field.
