A Maltese business group within the FMCG, are looking for an Junior Accountant, who will be supporting the Financial Controller and the finance team in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting reporting activities, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures and accounting standards. This role offers practical exposure within a fast-moving business environment.
Main Responsibilities:
Record and review financial transactions to ensure accuracy
Carry out reconciliations for bank accounts, suppliers, and general ledger entries
Assist in preparing management accounts and financial reports
Support accounts payable and receivable processes
Maintain accuracy within the general ledger
Contribute to month-end and year-end closing activities
Prepare VAT returns and assist with statutory reporting
Work with different departments to ensure reliable financial data
Provide support in financial analysis and ongoing projects
Requirements
1-3 years local experience in a similar job is considered an asset
Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting software
High attention to detail
Able to work independently and within a team
Fluent in English, and ideally also in Maltese
Strong numerical, analytical, and organisational skills
Education and Experience
Studying for ACCA or accounting qualification is considered an asset, but not a must
