Head of Finance

 Our client, a well-established and diversified group headquartered in Malta, is seeking an accomplished Head of Finance to oversee the financial management of one of its key entities. This is a strategic leadership role within a group poised for continued growth and operational excellence.

• Oversee the preparation of monthly management accounts, audits, and statutory filings (including VAT, payroll, and related obligations), providing hands-on support as needed.
• Establish, implement, and maintain preventive and review controls to ensure financial accuracy, integrity, and compliance.
• Partner with Senior Management and cross-functional teams to align financial objectives with overall business strategy.
• Coordinate with external auditors and prepare financial statements and supporting documentation as required.
• Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
• Drive finance-related projects, systems enhancements, and process improvement initiatives.
• Continuously review and refine finance and accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Prepare and deliver quarterly and annual financial performance reports and insights to the Board.
• Perform detailed financial analysis to forecast results, evaluate trends, and support strategic decision-making.

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years + working in a similar senior role
• Must have excellent verbal and communication skills in English, as well as commendable interpersonal skills
• Proven track record in leading teams and fostering the development of finance professionals.

Education and Experience

• Holds a university degree in Finance or a related field, and/or a recognised professional accounting qualification (such as ACCA).
