Head of Finance and Administration

  Central Malta  |  €50,000 - €60,000 Annually 

Our client, a professional services firm, is looking to expand their business and is currently seeking as a Head of Finance and Administration.

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage all financial operations across both organisations, maintaining strong internal controls and compliance.
  • Prepare and oversee budgets, forecasts, and consolidated financial reports.
  • Attend board meetings and provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Monitor performance, analyse variances, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review monthly management accounts and ensure accuracy of reporting.
  • Manage tax administration, including filing returns and liaising with external advisors.
  • Assist service lines with preparing and submitting documentation to authorities, including the tax and VAT departments and regulatory bodies such as MFSA and MBR.
  • Ensure every service provided is supported by a signed letter of engagement and maintain accurate tracking and compliance records.
  • Coordinate audits, maintain statutory and financial records, and handle regulatory correspondence.
  • Lead or assist with ad-hoc financial and operational projects as needed.
  • Identify process improvements to strengthen efficiency and reporting.
  • Support administrative functions necessary for smooth departmental operations.
  • Handle remaining reception duties, including answering phone calls, coordinating couriers, managing receipt of office supplies, and ensuring meeting rooms are prepared and presentable for guests.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a group or multi-organisation environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and MS Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax regulations.

Education and Experience

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent).
