Head of Accounts

A reputable client of ours specialising in Financial and Corporate services relating to the Yachting and Aviation sector, is looking to onboard a Head of Accounts to join, and continue growing, their finance team:

Duties:

• Review client companies' management accounts and financial statements  
• Liaise with auditors for efficiency in the provision of services to client entities
• Lead the annual audit preparations of client accounts, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and liaising with auditors accordingly 
• Be responsible for all VAT accounting matters for all company clients and ensure all filing deadlines are met.
• Oversee and supervise the Accounting Department, also managing the onboarding of new staff in this regard
• Reporting financial and business data to the CEO 
• Conduct detailed variance analysis on financial performance, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement; as requested by clients
• Establish and enforce internal controls and accounting policies to safeguard assets, reduce risks, and optimise financial operations
• Oversee and manage the preparation of Forecasts and Annual Budgets as required
• Liaise with various stakeholders and regulators on behalf of clients
• Ensuring ongoing financial compliance for a varied portfolio of clients, liaising frequently with the regulator and international financial standards, as required, in terms of the Company’s operating license and authorisations issued by the MFSA and any other relevant authority 
• Managing financial reporting and projections for risk and compliance matters

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 5+ years local experience working in a similar role at senior management level
• Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment, both independently and as part of a growing team
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Education and Experience

• Must be a fully qualified and locally warranted Accountant
