Head of Accounting

An International company is currently on the lookout for a Head of Accounting to join their team in Malta. 

Duties include: 

• Oversee and participate in the preparation and presentation of monthly accurate and timely financial numbers in accordance with IFRS
• Ensure compliance with global & local financial regulations, reporting requirements, and taxation laws
• Participate in group consolidation and year-end financial statements
• Oversee and participate in the daily work
• Oversee the efficient management of cash flow to ensure optimal liquidity and funding for operational needs
• Monitoring daily cash balances, forecasting cash needs, and implementing strategies to maximize cash utilization
• Prepare regular reports on cash position, cash flow projections, and variances to budget or forecasts
• Improve and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard the company's costs and assets and ensure the accuracy of financial records
• Manage relationships with external auditors and coordinate the annual audit process
• Ensure leverage financial technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial processes
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of financial operations
• Effectively communicate with internal teams, partners and clients to ensure alignment and successful collaboration

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting function, ideally within an international company
• Consolidations and IFRS experience are a requirement
• Previous experience in managing a team
• Fluency in written and spoken English

Education and Experience

• Fully Qualified through ACCA or similar
