A reputable client of ours specialised within the hospitality and retail sector, is looking to onboard a Group Financial Controller to join their team of professionals:
Duties:
Provide financial leadership across all Group entities, ensuring consistent application of accounting policies, financial standards and controls.
Lead the preparation and consolidation of accurate and timely financial reports, management accounts, and cash flow statements with commentary on comparisons to budgets.
Own the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring disciplined timelines, accuracy and quality of outputs.
Develop, implement and continuously enhance financial policies, procedures and governance frameworks.
Monitor financial performance, analysing variances, trends and risks, and translating data into clear, actionable insight.
Partner with operational leaders to drive improvements in profitability, cost efficiency and financial performance.
Support capital expenditure planning and ensure robust financial evaluation, approval processes and return-on-investment analysis are applied consistently.
Take ownership of financial systems, reporting structures and data integrity, and drive standardisation of chart of accounts, reporting formats and financial processes.
Lead initiatives to improve efficiency, automation and scalability of the finance function in line with growth plans.
Lead audit processes and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
Ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements, tax regulations and regulatory obligations.
Oversee tax planning, filings and compliance in collaboration with external advisors.
Support group expansion initiatives, new openings and structural changes from a financial control and reporting perspective.
Lead or contribute to group-wide financial projects and ad hoc analysis as required by senior leadership.
Requirements
Minimum 5 years of financial leadership experience within the hospitality industry. Preference would be given to candidates with training experience with Big 4 firms prior to experience in hospitality
Strong expertise in financial reporting standards, tax compliance, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and strategic planning.
Advanced proficiency in financial systems, reporting tools and Microsoft Excel
Proven track record of leading finance teams and partnering with executive leadership to drive growth and profitability.
Hands-on, agile approach with the ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a dynamic environment.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
Education and Experience
Must be in possession of UOM Accountancy Degree, ACCA/ACA or an equivalent accountancy qualification, and would ideally be locally warranted
