We are seeking a highly motivated and strategic Group Financial Controller to assume a pivotal finance leadership role within a dynamic and expanding Yachting and Maritime Group of Companies.
This is a high-impact position, reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and company Directors, centered on leading a major financial transition while ensuring robust financial management, compliance, and strategic reporting across the Group's diverse entities.
Core Responsibilities & Areas of Focus
Provide direct oversight of the Accounts Executive, the Group Operations Administrator, and any other accounting staff under your remit. Manage team recruitment in consultation with leadership to resource the transition.
Proactively identify, create, improve, and implement financial policies and procedures for management approval.
Oversee the recording of all financial transactions and maintain the General Ledger according to direction.
Oversee daily bank reconciliations. Manage and record monthly accruals, prepayments, work-in-progress, and intra-company balance reports.
Implement and maintain robust internal control systems and establish and maintain recharge policies.
Prepare monthly management accounts and monthly financial statements, reconciling intercompany balances, investigating and resolving mismatches.
Track and analyse costs associated with cost of sales, operations, and Group projects.
Quarterly conduct financial analysis to provide insights into performance, identify trends, and investigate discrepancies.
Coordinate with auditors, CFO, and the Accounts Department to successfully close the Group Consolidated Audit.
Ensure VAT and tax compliance and adherence to all accounting standards, laws, and regulatory requirements.
Support the budgeting process and monitor on variances monthly, track expenses, handle inventory valuation, and ensure accuracy of financial data in all systems.
Set and implement cash flow threshold policies to ensure each entity has sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations.
Requirements
At least 5+ years of strong accounting experience with local legislations
Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting standards and tax regulations.
Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, and consolidated reporting.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
Strong analytical and organisational skills

Education and Experience
Fully qualified and warranted Accountant through a University Degree or ACCA
