Group Financial Controller

  Central Malta  |  €90,000 - €100,000 Annually 

A highly reputable client of ours specialised in the FMCG and Retail industries, is looking to onboard a seasoned Group Financial Controller to join their team of professionals: 

Duties:

  • Ensure the timely production of all budgets, forecasts, management and statutory reports to meet Group and Divisional requirements. 
  • Support the Group CFO in aligning financial plans with strategic objectives, also providing actionable insights to improve operational efficiency and support strategic goals as required
  • Manage financial systems and data analytics to enhance reporting and decision- making capabilities.
  • Lead the preparation and consolidation of timely and accurate financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements 
  • Prepare/review management accounts and supporting documentation ensuring that standard management accounts meet the needs of the business
  • Manage the statutory annual audit process and Group strategic risk and internal control reviews
  • Optimise treasury operations at Group level, including management for international transactions, as well as liquidity and financing costs across the Group.
  • Train, develop and motivate employees within the Finance Department, while continually driving the performance of the team through implementing and demonstrating good business practices/behaviours. 
  • Regularly review and improve accounting / costing systems, monitoring and adapting internal financial control procedures as business processes evolve. 
  • Advise the Board and management teams on financial and legal matters related to finance, providing financial input to help execute the Group's strategy.
  • Ensure that all legal and Company safety, environmental and security standards are met.

Requirements

  • 8+ years in senior group finance roles, including senior management experience in reporting, compliance, and financial systems.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Maltese
  • Robust knowledge of the Maltese Statutory and Tax regime.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) is essential.
