A client of ours specialised in the FMCG and retail sector is looking to onboard a seasoned Group CFO to join their growing team; The designated person will be working closely with CEO, and will be responsible for leading the financial function of the group, providing strategic advice with regards to the Group's continued growth and financial stability throughout:
Duties:
Support the achievement of operational and commercial objectives which contribute to the long-term profitability of the Group
Revise and improve policies and procedures as well as ensure that financial statements and group consolidation accounts are being delivered according to industry standards.
Drive the financial aspects of Group strategy, including investment decisions, while collaborating with the executive leadership team to identify opportunities for growth and operational improvement
Provide financial analysis for the Board both when assessing potential new investments alongside reviewing the performance of current business activities
Oversee Group-wide cost optimisation strategies to maximise efficiency, particularly crucial for manufacturing and distribution operations.
Build and nurture working relationships with various stakeholders, such as banks, Financial Advisors, Financial Regulators, and other Financial Institutions, as required
Present financial updates, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to the CEO and the Board.
Oversee the Group's accounting consolidation and reviewing monthly and quarterly management accounts
Support the Group and relevant departments in ensuring a robust Internal Audit function is in place, to assess and report on the effectiveness of Governance, Risk Management, and Control Processes
Develop a pipeline for growth through M&A activity aligned with the Group’s objectives
Evaluate, manage and mitigate financial and other risks in collaboration with the CEO and the Board
Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements at the Group level
Requirements
A minimum of 10 years' local experience working in a similar senior position
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Maltese
Solid knowledge of financial governance, internal controls, and risk management
Education and Experience
Must be a fully qualified and locally warranted accountant
