Our client, operating in the construction industry, is seeking to recruit a Financial Controller to join their team.
Main responsibility :
Responsibility for monthly management accounts, financial reporting, and variance analysis.
Monitoring and control of project budgets, cost reports, cashflow forecasts, and subcontractor accounts.
Management of cashflow planning, supplier payments, retentions, and milestone-based invoicing.
Preparation and submission of VAT returns, NSO, Intrastat, and corporate tax filings in compliance with statutory requirements.
Ensuring compliance with IFRS, Maltese VAT, and direct tax regulations, and maintaining the integrity of the Sage accounting system.
Providing financial analysis, budgets, forecasts, and strategic support to senior management and the Board.
Supporting continuous improvement of internal controls and financial processes.
Requirements
3 years of experience in accounting and financial control, ideally within the construction or contracting sector.
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, Maltese VAT, and corporate taxation.
Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
Education and Experience
A full accounting qualification (ACCA, ACA, CPA, or equivalent); candidates in the final stages of qualification may also be considered for the right profile.
